The Sydney University Catholic Society, established in 1928 as the Sydney University Newman Society, is a student-run community of Catholics—under the patronage of St Peter the Apostle and St John Henry Cardinal Newman—who share a mission to help all students, Catholic and non-Catholic, in their pilgrimage of faith during their time at the University of Sydney. We do this in partnership with the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney's University Chaplaincy team, by supporting and encouraging Catholic students in their spiritual, intellectual, pastoral, and human development of their faith, in seeking to build an authentically Catholic culture to live in truth and charity.
